I am super stoked to be part of the team putting together this tiny house workshop in Sydney.
As far as tiny houses in Sydney are concerned The Bower has really been leading the charge. This will be the 4th tiny house project they have been involved in and this time they are stepping it up. The plan for this workshop is to assemble a team of would be tiny house builders (workshop participants) and salvaged building materials. Then over 6 weekends in September build a complete tiny house with sleeping loft, kitchen space, solar system, bathroom including shower and toilet area.
The focus of the workshop is on acquiring building skills applicable to tiny house construction and building with recycled materials. In order to give the workshop participants maximum learning time we are keeping the design really simple and are only doing a bare bones internal fit out.
At the end of the workshop The Bower plans to sell the Tiny House shell (build during the workshop) as part of their annual fund raiser. This is super cool because who ever buys it has a whole host of energy already put into making their tiny house dreams a reality and they can then focus all their energy and DIY creativity on fitting out their small living space exactly to their needs. That is a pretty rare opportunity to find here in Australia.
If your interested in being a participant in this workshop call The Bower on 8004 2666 or email gm@bower.org.au.
